The unique telecommunication/ICT needs of small island developing states

The Rapporteur’s Group on Question 23/2, during its meeting held from 16 to 17 June 2008 in Geneva, agreed that understanding the current situation of telecommunication development in small island developing states (SIDS) is important to the work of the Group. The ITU-D Study Group 2 meeting held in Geneva from 15 to 19 September 2008 approved a Questionnaire to allow the Rapporteur’s Group to get the needed information.

This Questionnaire is mainly addressed to SIDS. However information collected by countries whose territory includes small island developing countries could be very useful to the Group. The definition of the Question can be found at the following Web address:

http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/study_groups/SGP_2006-2010/documents/CA/CA-35-eV2.doc

You are invited to complete all relevant parts of the Questionnaire as far as possible and no later than 15 January 2009.

You will find herewith the files with the questions in the six ITU languages to facilitate the understanding of the exercise. However, for analysis purposes, only the on-line form may be used and must be completed in English.
