Summary: Machine learning, deep learning, hardware optimization, and automated data collection are among the latest trends associated with AI. Applications and solutions derived from the latest AI trends help companies to reduce their environmental and social footprints by improving the efficiency of their products and architectures. AI driven management software improve and maximize data centre efficiency by optimizing cooling equipment, power consumptions, storage management, through feeding data and algorithms developed and collected by different operators. AI application is also expected to play a pivotal role in supply chain management (SCM). The adoption of AI systems brings a multitude of advantages to supply chain operators from all sectors, including cost reduction, creating new production by accurately forecasting demands of a given product, improving logistics operations by determining the optimized route while minimizing risks. Accordingly, AI application could be the key to enhance sustainability within the ICT sector, reducing e-waste that is being produced and optimizing its energy consumption to reduce its carbon footprints. Therefore, it is imperative to define such impacts and pave ways to future works on related work items.
