Summary: Railway stations are a public infrastructure and an active part of a city. They may have a relevant impact on the city. Smart Railways Station platforms should be analyzed in a separated way than other transportation hubs' platforms like those of airports and seaports because at a high level vision they may be all similar, but zooming-in the reality of each one is different. The Recommendation will promote the development of the communication between the city and the railway station, allowing the city to work as a coordinated ecosystem instead of as if the city was composed of independent non-communicating elements. Pursuing the best possible global experience for citizens, the goal of the Recommendation is to facilitate: " Digitalization of rail stations so as to meet new demands from the digital citizens " Personalization of stations using all the gathered information for customizing the client experience, so any person can perceive his/her own station and there will be as many stations as citizens who are using the station. The services whose requirements have to be supported by the Smart Railway Station Platform include, but are not limited to: " Services to citizens " Services for railway and other transport operators " Services for commercial operators " Services for improving the efficiency " Services to the city
