Summary: Compared to communication between humans, communication between machines in enterprise IoT services is much more challenging. Different customers may have different needs, for example, some manufacturing customers mainly use lots of sensors which needs high network capacity and delay insensitive, some manufacturing customers mainly use robots which needs high network reliability and delay sensitive, and some customers have multiple types of terminals in the same factory, such as sensors, cameras, robots and PLC controllers. In general, different services and applications requires different network capability exposure. Flexible QoS requirements and QoE requirements need to be considered as important elements for building functional architectures to support enterprise services. This draft new Recommendation specifies functional architecture enhancement with network capability exposure to support flexible QoS and QoE requirements, and functional entities and reference points of the proposed functional architecture.
