Summary: The form of computing power infrastructure has gradually evolved from typical intensive cloud computing to the trend of multi-level, ubiquitous such as cloud computing-edge computing-end computing. The multi-level distributed computing power resources in the form of cloud-edge-end rely on the communication network to work together, and the computing power resources and network convergence become inevitable. The computing power network (CPN) is a new type of network that realizes the optimized resource allocation, by distributing computing, storage, network, and other resource information of service nodes through network control plane. It combines network context and user requirements to provide the optimal distribution, association, transaction and scheduling of computing, storage and network resources. Different application scenarios of CPN promote the development of the diversity for computing power architectures. Current computing power resources are multi-level (cloud computing, edge computing and end computing), heterogeneous (CPU, GPU, FPGA, ASIC, etc.), various (basic computing power, intelligent computing power, supercomputing power, etc.), and diverse in attribution (public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud). How to manage and coordinate the global heterogeneous computing power resources is the focus of computing power network research. Establishing a unified identification mechanism for heterogeneous computing power resources is the key to coordinating and managing global heterogeneous computing power resources in CPN. It is also the basis for opening and sharing the underlying heterogeneous computing power resources as services. In summary, to manage and schedule global heterogeneous computing power resources, various computing power resources need to be uniformly identified in CPN. Therefore, it is proposed to start a new draft Recommendation on signalling requirements for computing power identification of computing power network.
