Summary: Emerging services (such as VR) have higher and higher requirements for the quality of computing power service. In traditional cloud computing, the network only plays the role of a best effort connection. The main reference index of the network is bandwidth, which can no longer meet the growing demand for the quality of computing power service. In this context, CPN was born. To solve this problem, ITU starts the study of computing power network. Q2/SG13 had already released the first computing power network recommendation - Y.2501 which study the framework and architecture of computing power network. As described in Y.2501, The computing power network (CPN) is a new type of network that realizes optimized resource allocation, by distributing computing, storage, network and other resource information of service nodes through a network control plane (such as a centralized controller, distributed routing protocol, etc.). CPN combines network context and user requirements to provide optimal distribution, association, transaction and scheduling of computing, storage and network resources. The key of the computing power network is to realize "computing power addressing", which will have a new impact on traditional network control functions. Therefore, this new work item proposes to study signalling architecture of network control functions for CPNin Q1/11 based on Y.2501 architecture.
