Summary: SDN and NFV based central office service, which now is equipped with SDN and NFV technologies, earns the capabilities of developing diverse internet access services much easier and faster. The status identification o virtual resources become more complex, while the interactions between physical and virtual resources are also complicated. The running states of these resources and interactions are required to be monitored so as to ensure the stability, reliability and availability of central office services. - Monitoring the virtual resources, such as vBRAS, vOLT and vCPE respectively, helps to analyze their performance, detect fault events in advance and provide reliable internet access services to the customers; - Monitoring the signalling protocol in Central Office service and the interactions between physical and virtual resources can guarantee the stabilization of central office services. Therefore, defining the monitoring parameters of SDN and NFV based Central Office services is necessary. However, currently there are no related studies in ITU-T and other SDO. It is essential to study the parameter set for monitoring the SDN and NFV based Central Office services.
