Summary: Nowadays, the rapid development of emerging applications such as online games, live video and video conference have put forward new performance and functional requirements for terminals, OTT service providers and operators' networks, including low latency, low jitter, high reliability and large bandwidth and other differentiated indicators. At present, the end-to-end network capability is not enough to fully match the personalized service demand, or to achieve fine and accurate service capability matching. Therefore, service aware network is built with the guidance of service awareness, service scheduling and service differentiation. The network can sense not only the demand of services but also the state of services and the ability of the services, provide the optimal network path and service policy, and improve the user experience of the whole network. That is, through service identification function, service state, location and resource situation information are obtained, and service identification is generated to achieve unified network scheduling of services. Based on the framework of service aware network, it’s necessary to establish a unified identification mechanism for service, which obtains information from the infrastructure layer and is used for service orchestration, service scheduling, service monitoring and so on. And the signalling requirements of service identification generation and service orchestration on service identification is involved in this draft recommendation.
