Summary: Due to the increase in delivery demand for food and goods due to excessive delivery costs and increased social costs resulting from delivery-related accidents have become significant problems in urban areas. To address these issues, service robot manufacturers are attempting to change the delivery method by introducing autonomous delivery robots that utilize self-driving technologies for delivery services. Some manufacturers and delivery service providers are individually trying to build urban infrastructures to facilitate autonomous delivery robot services. However, if different protocols are established for each secondary and tertiary delivery service provider, robot manufacturer and urban infrastructure company, the social cost of implementing delivery robot services will be a major problem. Standardizing the interworking protocol for delivery robot services can significantly reduce the social costs associated with the introduction of delivery robots. To avoid the need for service providers to establish individual urban infrastructures for delivery robot services. This draft Recommendation is to define the reference architecture for autonomous delivery robots that interwork with delivery robot service provider, user device and urban infrastructure to facilitate delivery goods without human intervention based on the ITU-T Y.DRI-reqts.
