ITU-T Rec. Y.4477 (11/2021) specifies a framework of service interworking with device discovery and management in heterogeneous IoT environments with functional requirements, architectures, and procedures. The framework manages the functionalities of entities to facilitate intelligent and autonomous services for IoT discovery technology. However, the entities within the framework – including the Profile Manager (PM), Registry ID Resolver (RIR), Connection Manager (CM), and Device Registry (DR) – are defined without considering the technical concepts and characteristics of intelligent IoT and autonomous IoT.
The Revised Y.4477 will achieve a certain level of standard quality maturity, enabling efficient utilization of services in anticipation of upcoming intelligent and autonomous IoT environments.
