Summary: The form of computing power infrastructure has gradually evolved from typical intensive cloud computing to the trend of multi-level, ubiquitous such as cloud computing-edge computing-end computing. The multi-level distributed computing power resources in the form of cloud-edge-end rely on the communication network to work together, and the computing power resources and network convergence become inevitable. As described in Y.2501, the computing power network (CPN) is a new type of network that realizes the optimized resource allocation, by distributing computing, storage, network, and other resource information of service nodes through network control plane (such as a centralized controller, distributed routing protocol, etc.). It combines network context and user requirements to provide the optimal distribution, association, transaction and scheduling of computing, storage and network resources. CPN consists of three layers, plus an orchestration and management layer that spans across the layers. The three layers are: resource layer, control layer and service layer. The resources in CPN mainly includes computing power resources (computing resources, and storage resources) and network resources. The resources are various, heterogeneous and belong to many providers. The resource management function is the key to managing and scheduling computing power network resources. It is also the basis for opening and sharing the underlying heterogeneous resources in CPN as services. The resource management function should contain configuration management configuration, fault management, performance management, etc. In summary, the resources in CPN are required to be managed to ensure the normal operation of CPN. Therefore, this contribution proposes to initiate a new draft recommendation on signalling architecture of resource management function for CPN.
