ITU Seminar on “Standardization and ICT Development for the
Information Society”
At the invitation of and in close collaboration with the Communications and
Information Agency of Uzbekistan, ITU-D (International Telecommunication Union
Development Sector) and ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union
Standardization Sector) together with Regional Commonwealth in the Field of
Communications (RCC) held a Seminar on “Standardization and ICT Development
for the Information Society” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan 6 to 8 October
2003.
The Seminar aimed to give an overview of the latest developments in ICT
standardization in the following areas:
- e-Strategies - e-Government, e-Business, e-Health, e-Agriculture;
- Tariffs and Interconnection;
- Quality of Service standardization;
- Network Management standardization;
- Security and Multimedia related studies;
- IP-related standardization and mobile related studies;
- Cable TV Networks
