Biography

Lissette González, Telecomunicaciones Indigenas Comunitarias A.C., Mexico 


An economist by training, Lissette lived for ten years in an indigenous community (Ayuuk) in the Oaxacan mountains where she learned and exercised the principles, norms and wisdom of communality. She collaborated in some cultural projects, including the creation of a radio (Wijën Kajën Radio) and a community magazine (Incilio). 

From 2018 to 2020, she was the administrator of the community cell phone network, a service that allowed her to participate in various workshops, as well as in the training course for promoters and technical promoters in indigenous communities in telecommunications and broadcasting, taught by the ITU (2019- 2020). Currently, she is part of the operational team of Indigenous Communities Telecommunications A.C. Her work is oriented to the formation and training of all the actors involved in community cell phone networks (local authorities, committees, and administrators, users). 


Lissette is 35 years old and lives in Oaxaca de Juárez.
