The Attorney-General is a lawyer by profession admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and to the High Courts of Australia and Fiji.
He completed his Masters in Law degree at the University of Hong Kong and also holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Wollongong in Australia
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of New South Wales, Australia and attained his Bachelor of Arts (BA) majoring in Political Science and Development Studies degree from Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has extensive experience working in corporate organizations, both in Fiji and internationally.
Prior to his acceptance of the position of the Attorney General, he was the General Manager, Group Legal & Compliance and Company Secretary of the Colonial Group of Companies in Suva.
Besides working as a Senior Legal Officer at the Fijian Director of Public Prosecutions Office, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has also practiced with the Minter Ellison Lawyers in Sydney, Australia.
Mr Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is the current Attorney General and Minister responsible for various portfolios.
