​Hon. Rimeta Beniamina is Minister of Communications, Transport and Tourism Development.

Hon. Beniamina graduated in 1997 from the Australian Maritime College with Bachelor of Applied Science (Fisheries) and was awarded ‘1997 AMC Search Endeavour Award’ for high endeavour in the Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Fisheries). 

Later, Hon. Beniamina served Government in the Ministry of Natural Resources Development and was involved in various fisheries projects implemented in the country.  He has held senior positions within the Ministry of Natural Resources such as Head of Fisheries and Head of the Licensing and Enforcement Unit.

In 2003 Hon. Beniamina was elected from his constituency Nikunau Island as a Member of Parliament and became an active Leader for the Opposition Party “Ana Tabomoa Kiribati”.

He was appointed as Minister for Communications, Transport and Tourism Development in October this year.
