ITU Regional Workshop for the CIS “Recommendations on Transition from IPv4 to IPv6 in CIS Region», Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, 16-18 April 2014

Overview

The Workshop is aimed at exchange of practical experiences and elaboration of recommendations for the CIS countries in the field of transition from IPv4 to IPv6. In particular, the Workshop will cover the issues, such as:

  • Evaluation of current deployment of  IPv6 in the world;
  • Encouraging the Deployment of IPv6 in the Developing Countries;
  • IPv6 Public Policy Making Aspects;
  • Institutional arrangements on IPv6 transition on communication provider networks;
  • Technical standards of IPv6; сomparison of  IPv6 with IPv4;
  • IPv6 transition methods and mechanisms;
  • Particularities of IPv6 transition (fixed telephony, NGN, broadband access, the Internet access services for a mobile communication provider);
  • Solutions of providers of central Internet connection nodes;
  • Experiences of CIS countries in the field of IPv6 transition.
  • Viability of coordination and recording of IP addresses used at the territory of a certain country.
