ITU Regional Workshop for CIS on Optimal Solutions to the Provision of Broadband Access in Small and Medium-sized Settlements, Moscow, Russian Federation, 17-19 February 2015

OVERVIEW

This Workshop is aimed at sharing practical experience in the field of the building of broadband access networks in small  and medium-sized settlement. In particular, the workshop will cover the issues, such as:

  • The issues and ways of digital divide elimination;
  • Creation of active and passive access networks in the light of new solutions and standards;
  • The position of optical fibre on the network section;
  • Potential solutions for both modulation characteristics and increase of the number of subscribers on the access networks;
  • Wi-Fi  and  WiMAX radio access systems;
  • Last mile concept: small cells (LTE/Femto);
  • М2М services;
  • М2М network solutions for wireless systems of energy accounting and control systems;
  • Presentation of new solutions implemented in the Russian Federation and other CIS countries.
