CIS3: Introduction of training technologies and methods using telecommunications/ICT for human capacity building

OVERVIEW

Objective: To assist ITU Member States in the CIS region in setting up and developing national programmes for introducing telecommunications/ICTs into education.

Expected results

1) Further training courses, training sessions and seminars on introducing telecommunications/ICTs into education and human capacity building, including in rural areas

2) Development of distance-learning technologies and methods in areas including the protection of ethnic minorities' rights to receive education in their own languages by providing additional educational opportunities

3) Development of methods for assessing personality traits in order to select the most suitable teaching methods for individual students using telecommunications/ICTs

4) Recommendations on methods of setting up national programmes for the introduction of telecommunications/ICTs into education

5) Comprehensive human capacity building through education using modern developments in telecommunications/ICTs.

In 2016, the Software (Automated System) for diagnosis of human susceptibility to one or more channels of information perception was developed. Software allows user to determine its predominant perception channel and provided valuable recommendations to improve the quality of its educational process with the use of ICT. The main purpose of the System is to identify the personal pupils' qualities that affect the achievement of good results in the learning process, as well as the definition of the optimal forms and methods of supplying materials for training with application of telecommunications/ ICT.

Based on the analysis of existing approaches and best practices of content creation for e-learning resources Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications under Kyrgyz State Technical University developed Recommendations on implementing ICT in education (download in Russian) and Recommendations on creating and structuring e-learning resources (download in Russian).

Workshop on "Using telecommunications/ICTs for quality and safe educations" for management and informatics teachers of general education schools was organized in Odessa, Ukraine on 24 November 2016 (report in Russian).
