​​​Bilel Jamoussi, Chief of Study Groups, TSB, International Telecommunication Union

Tunisian born, Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department of ITU Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland. Since 2010, he has been leading the bureau's standards making activities into a new era characterized by rapid convergence and the need for increased collaboration with vertical sectors and partnership between developed and developing countries. Prior to 2010, Jamoussi worked for a Telecommunication equipment and solutions provider for 15 years in Canada and then in the United States where he held several leadership positions and was granted 22 US patents in diverse areas including packet, optical, wireless, and quality of service. He holds a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English and speaks some Spanish and German.​

Jaroslaw Ponder, Head of the International Telecommunication Union Office for Europe

Mr. Jaroslaw K. Ponder, is the Head of the Office for Europe at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), representing ITU in Europe and directing actions, projects, initiatives and experts groups targeting 46 countries of the Europe Region. His portfolio includes Regional Initiatives for Europe, designed by the European Member States and focusing on the ICT Infrastructure, Digitization, Digital Inclusion, Accessibility, Innovation and Cybersecurity.
 
During his professional career, Mr. Ponder has held official positions in the public sector and has been a leading contributor to legislative projects, which influenced public policy. Since 2004, he has been working for ITU holding diverse positions in the General Secretariat, Telecommunication Development Bureau, and Regional Presence, addressing the complexity of information society development and digital transformation at national, regional, international level, including United Nations level.
 
For several years, Mr. Ponder has managed ITU's work in the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) process, establishing the annual WSIS Forum, WSIS Prizes, WSIS Stocktaking, and others. In his current role, Mr. Ponder has established several formal coordination mechanisms facilitating the work of UN agencies in advancing digital transformation at the national and regional level. ​​

Cristina Bueti, Counsellor and ITU Focal Point on Environment & Smart Sustainable Cities, International Telecommunication Union

Cristina Bueti is the ITU Focal Point on Environment and Smart Sustainable Cities. She is also the Counsellor of ITU-T Study Group 20 “Internet of things (IoT) and smart cities and communities (SC&C)" at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). She also serves as TSB/ITU focal point for Latin America. Cristina Bueti graduated from the Faculty of Political Science, Law and International Cooperation and Development of the University of Florence, where she completed postgraduate studies in International Cooperation and Telecommunications Law in Europe. She also holds a specialization in Environmental Law with a special focus on Telecommunications. In 2003, Ms. Bueti built on her academic credentials by completing a specialized course in peace keeping and international cooperation with special focus on telecommunications at the Faculty of Laws, University of Malta, before joining the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva in January 2004. As part of the International Women's Day 2016, she was named as one of the twenty Geneva-based inspirational women working to protect the environment. She has authored over 40 reports on telecommunication issues. A native Italian speaker, Cristina is also fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Mythili Menon, Project Officer, International Telecommunication Union

Mythili Menon works as Project Officer at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the domain of standardization for new and emerging technologies. She serves as the Advisor of the ITU/WMO/UNEP Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Natural Disaster Management (FG-AI4NDM). Mythili possesses a strong background in environmental science, standardization and the policy frameworks underlying sustainable development issues. Between 2015-2017, she worked for the ITU-T Study Group 20 on 'Internet of Things and Smart Cities and Communities' and ITU-T Study Group 5 on 'Environment, Climate Change and Circular Economy'. Previously, she worked as the Standardization Lead at Mandat International for various EU Horizon 2020 projects. Mythili holds a Masters in 'Standardization, Social Regulation and Sustainable Development' from the University of Geneva. She completed her Bachelors in 'Environmental Science and Chemistry' from University College Utrecht in the Netherlands. The areas relating to the sustainable development goals, artificial intelligence, blockchain, intelligent transport systems, disaster management, data management, smart cities, and IoT are of enduring interest to her and she has co-authored several publications on these subjects.

Victoria Papp, Consultant, International Telecommunication Union
 
Victoria Papp is a consultant at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), contributing to ITU-T’s activities on 'Internet of Things and Smart Cities and Communities' and ‘Environment, Climate Change and Circular Economy’. Victoria consults as a subject matter expert helping creating global standards, strategic initiatives and reports that support cities in addressing climate change issues through digital transformation to make a positive impact globally. Victoria has a strong focus on analytical research in sustainability, digital transformation, environmental science, resilience, and wellbeing, where she has co-authored several publications on these topics. Victoria also supports the smart and sustainable development of the built environment through standardization in her position at the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada.  Victoria holds a Master of Applied Science in Environmental Science and Management and a Bachelor's degree in Environment and Urban Sustainability from Ryerson University in Canada. Victoria is fluent in Hungarian, English and French.
