Contact: tsbevents@itu.intIntroductionThe International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the World Health Organization (WHO) is organizing the fourth workshop on "Artificial Intelligence for Health" taking place in Shanghai, China on 2 April 2019. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to support and improve medical diagnostics and treatment decision processes based on digital data. Example solutions may include decision support systems, the interpretation of laboratory results or imaging data, and the extraction of diagnostically relevant features from text or sensor time series. A standardized assessment of AI for health methods would assure the quality, thereby foster the adoption in practice, and have a strong impact on Global Health.
This workshop will be the fourth in a series of workshops linked to the ITU Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (
FG-AI4H). The aim of these workshops is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, practitioners, entrepreneurs and policy makers to discuss standardization opportunities for the assessment of AI for health solutions and to identify use cases and data required for the evaluation and validation with open benchmarks. The workshop will be followed by the fourth meeting of the ITU-T Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (FG-AI4H) which will be held from 3- 5 April 2019 in the same venue.
Target Audience
Participation in the workshop and focus group meeting is open to ITU Member States, Sector Members, Associates and Academic Institutions and to any individual who wishes to contribute to the work and is from a country that is a member of ITU. This includes individuals who are also members of international, regional and national organizations. The workshop is free of charge.
