Turin, Italy, 6-9 May 2013
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Italian Ministry for Economic Development organized the Eighth Symposium on ICTs, the Environment and Climate Change that took place from 6 to 7 May 2013 and the Workshop on Human Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) that took place on 9 May 2013. In addition, the recently established Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities (FG-SSC) held its first meeting on 8 May 2013.
These events looked at the role that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can play to shape smart sustainable cities and provided a global platform to discuss measurement concerns related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
The events brought together leading specialists in the field, from top policy-makers to engineers, designers, planners, government officials, media, regulators, standards experts and others.
