A senior executive, with 20 years of technology and regulatory experience in the digital transformation and telecom space, leading complex digital initiatives in the irrigation, space, energy (distribution and metering), intelligent transportation systems, and telecom mobile and wireless infrastructure. Dr Fathy’s recent career has focused on senior technical advisory and project leadership in digital solutions design and implementation with solid experience in key verticals like Smart Cities, IoT, M2M, 5G and related subjects. He has done advisory work on advanced ICT/Digital solutions design and standards based implementations with an emphasis on security, interoperability, and integration. 
Dr Fathy is actively engaged in standardization in the IEEE and ITU. In 2021, he has joined the  IEEE Standards Association Standards Board (SASB) as a board member. He is also serving as the Vice Chairman of one of its standing committees, the IEEE SA NesCom. He is a member of AudCom (2020 & 2021), member of ProCom (2022) and GEPS representative from 2019. In 2016, he has been elected to serve as the Vice Chairman of ITU-T Study Group 20, the lead ITU-T study group which develops international standards on IoT and its applications including smart cities and communities. Furthermore, he is currently serving as the Co-Chair of the recently established ITU-T Focus Group on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) for Digital Agriculture" (FG-AI4A), whereby he is leading along with an international team of experts, the use of emerging technologies including AI and IoT; to support optimized agricultural production and management processes. 
Dr Fathy has a PhD in Electronics & Communications (cognitive radio systems) and a Masters in crypto. He has numerous publications in scholarly journals and conferences, and he's the author of one book in electronics.​

Tunisian born, Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department of ITU Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland. Since 2010, he has been leading the bureau’s standards making activities into a new era characterized by rapid convergence and the need for increased collaboration with vertical sectors and partnership between developed and developing countries. Prior to 2010, Jamoussi worked for a Telecommunication equipment and solutions provider for 15 years in Canada and then in the United States where he held several leadership positions and was granted 22 US patents in diverse areas including packet, optical, wireless, and quality of service. He holds a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English and speaks some Spanish and German.​​
