Information session on Scope 3 Guidance for telecommunication operators

Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the GSM Association (GSMA) and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) organized an information session on Scope 3 Guidance for telecommunication operators  on 28 March 2023, from 0900 to 1045 CEST and 2100 to 2245 CEST. To enable the participation of experts from different time zones, two sessions were held. The content of the two sessions was the same.

This Guidance harmonizes methods for telecommunication operators to assess and report their scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, and to increase its coverage, and transparency. This guidance is intended to supplement, not supersede, existing standards.

Objective​ ​

The objective of this information session was to present the final version of the guidance and provide a brief overview of the Scope 3 categories covered in the guidance. 

The information session gathered experts from ITU-T Study Group 5, GSMA and GeSI.
