CL-21/3 Results of consultations on Change of dates of WTSA-20

The consultation carried out by Circular Letter No. 20/51 of 22 December 2020 relating to the change of dates of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2020 (WTSA-20) as indicated in Decision 608 (Modified 2020) has received the agreement of the required majority of the Member States of ITU, in accordance with No. 46 of the ITU Convention.

As a result, Member States of ITU have agreed to reschedule the next WTSA from 1 to 9 March 2022, preceded by the Global Standards Symposium (GSS) on 28 February 2022 and subject to the restoration of normal work and travel conditions in India and in other Member States.

06 January 2021:

DM-20/1022 Member States of ITU Council have supported rescheduling the next WTSA-20 from 1 March to 9 March 2022 preceded by the Global Standards Symposium on 28 February 2022 and subject to the restoration of normal work and travel conditions in India and in other Member States.

Circular letter CL-20/51 Pursuant to No. 46 of the ITU Convention, all Member States of ITU are invited to inform the Secretary General of their concurrence with the change of dates of WTSA-20. Deadline for Member States to reply to the consultation is 1 February 2021, 23:59 hours, Geneva time.

01 December 2020:

The second Virtual Consultation of Councilors meeting VCC-2 agreed that postponing WTSA-20 in 2022 would be preferable. Accordingly, a consultation of Member States will be undertaken. Please see the Outcomes of discussions of the second virtual consultation of councilors in DT1/Rev4.

The proposed dates for WTSA-20 are 1-9 March 2022, preceded by GSS on 28 February 2022 in Hyderabad, India.

CL-20/40: Results of consultations on Change of dates of WTSA-20 and Agenda of WRC-23

Member States of ITU have agreed to reschedule the next WTSA from 23 February to 5 March 2021 after the Global Standards Symposium on 22 February 2021 and subject to the restoration of normal work and travel conditions in India and in other Member States.

24 August 2020:

According with the Result of the consultation on outcomes of discussions of the Virtual consultation of councillors:

"Change of dates of WTSA-20 Council Member States have supported rescheduling the next WTSA from 23 February to 5 March 2021 after the Global Standards Symposium on 22 February 2021 and subject to the restoration of normal work and travel conditions in India and in other Member States.

In line with the relevant provisions of No. 46 of the Convention, this decision of the Council (Annex 2) on the matter will now be subject to the concurrence of the majority of the Member States of ITU, via letter CL20/33."
