Dynamic Coalition on Internet and Climate Change (DCICC)

ITU launched the Dynamic Coalition on Internet and Climate Change (DCICC) in 2007. It is an open body committed to moderating the environmental impact of the Internet, to seeking new ways to embrace the power of the Internet for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions worldwide, and to enabling transformation in line with the objectives set and to be set under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Meetings and Activities

The Dynamic Coalition has held a number of meetings and workshops in order to raise awareness and support capacity-building efforts, especially in terms of the internet's role in sustainable development, green innovation as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation. The next DCICC meeting will take place on 12 June 2017 at ITU headquarters in Geneva as part of the WSIS Forum 2017.
