In the past he led the European-funded IST project SHAMAN, which studied the security of future mobile systems, and ran the Secure Applications Steering Group for Mobile VCE. Other collaborative research projects on various aspects of security for mobile communications include 3GS3 in the UK-funded LINK programme, and ASPeCT and USECA in the European ACTS programme. His research interests include cryptography, security of systems and applications of mathematics to telecommunications. Mr Yuwei Li started his professional career as a transport engineer in 1983. After 13-year's service in the fields of inland water, maritime and road transport in various transport institutions of China, he formally joined UNESCAP Transport Division early 1996 as an officer for inland water transport, and then for transport infrastructure, land transport facilitation and transport policy at different levels. Prior to joining UNECE, he was Director of UNESCAP Transport Division. Mr Li played an important role in the UNESCAP transport programme, including initiating, drafting and negotiating regional and subregional agreements, formulating regional long-term vision on integrated intermodal transport system and comprehensive sustainable transport connectivity programme, developing regional standards and frameworks, and setting regional targets and development indicators. Mr Li's connection with UNECE started from 1992 when he, as a consultant of UNESCAP, helped adopt a UNESCAP resolution recommending seven transport conventions administered by UNECE. With UNESCAP he borrowed the concept of the UNECE CEVNI to harmonize the aids to navigation along the Greater Mekong River in 2000. Since 2001, he organized and/or conducted many seminars/workshops/advisory services/studies on different conventions administered by UNECE in Asia. He played a key role in promotion of accession to the conventions by the Asian countries, formulation of fundamental regional and subregional agreements and regional frameworks to pave a road for the applications of the conventions and provision of advisory services for the countries with specific difficulties in the accession and implementation of the conventions in Asia. He was also substantially involved in the joint UNECE-UNESCAP transport projects, including the Euro-Asian Transport Links, electronic data exchange between Customs, road safety and transport corridors in Southern and Central Asia. |

Manuel Marsilio is the General Manager of the Brussels-based Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI). In his role he represents the European Bicycle, Electrically Power Assisted Cycle and Parts & Accessories Industries before the EU, the UN and other international organisations. Jean Todt is President of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de L'Automobile) - the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s motoring organisations. The federation works across two key interlinked areas of activity – Sport and Mobility. In the realm of Mobility, the FIA aims to ensure that safe, affordable and clean systems of transport are available to all. He was elected to the position in October 2009 and re-elected in December 2013. He made road safety a priority of the federation through the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign, launched in 2011 in support of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. The campaign is based on global advocacy for road safety, supporting action on the ground by its 250 member clubs in nearly 150 countries, building institutional and commercial partnerships as well as mobilising the motor sport community to promote road safety.
• On 29 April 2015, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed Jean Todt as his first ever Special Envoy for Road Safety.
• Jean Todt is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society.
• Jean Todt began his career in 1966 as a world championship rally co-driver, before joining Peugeot as Sporting Director in 1981. In 1993, he joined Ferrari Racing, later taking responsibility for all motor sport activity for the Ferrari-Maserati Group. He was appointed General Manager of Ferrari in 2004 and at the end of 2006 became Chief Executive Officer of the company until 2008.
• In 2011, Jean Todt was named Grand Croix de la Légion d'Honneur, the highest honour of the French Republic. He is Chairman of the Board of the Suu Foundation, a humanitarian organization dedicated to advancing the health and education of the people of Myanmar founded by Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Peace Institute (IPI). He is also one of the Founders and the Vice-President of ICM, an institute devoted to medical research for brain and spinal cord disorders.
