JacquesJacques Bonifay
Transatel

As CEO of Transatel, Jacques is head of the company’s general management, as well as our shareholder relationships. In November 2009, Jacques became President of Alternative Mobile, the French MVNO association made up of the country’s largest MVNOs, where he leads the association’s interests in relation to the French government and telecom regulatory authorities. Jacques was elected President of EAFM, the European Association of Full MVNOs in October 2012. Now re-named MVNO Europe, the group includes major European operators, such as Liberty Global, Telenet, PosteMobile, Cyta Hellas, Voiceworks, and El Telecom (NRJ Mobile). Jacques is guiding their lobbying efforts to the European institutions. Before founding Transatel, Jacques had a career in the space industry at Airbus Group, and afterwards as a consultant for McKinsey & Co. at the Paris office. Jacques later headed Strategy & Business Development for the Professional & Consumer Division of Alcatel, where he initiated new businesses based on fixed mobile convergence and e-commerce with several operators.

Green Hills Software’s Director of Automotive Business Development, Chuck Brokish, has almost 30 years of experience in embedded systems, in the areas of mobile wireless, automotive active noise control, infotainment, ADAS, and V2x. He has been working on embedded security for over 20 years. Chuck is a registered professional engineer, and has been active on advisory councils and industry forums and standards committees including IEEE, MIPI, Global Platform, and SAE. He has patents in the areas of active noise control, DSP architecture, real-time debug, and secure processor design.

Jason Ellis is a director of business development for Qualcomm Technologies Inc. in the Automotive Business and is responsible for 3G/4G/5G cellular communications for the connected car including telematics, Cellular-V2X and the automotive aftermarket. He previously led efforts in Internet of Things/Machine-to-Machine connectivity including Smart Energy, Smart Cities including water and lighting, Security & Automation and Smart Transportation. Previously, Ellis focused on non-cellular wireless communications encompassing Bluetooth, WiFi, Ultra Wideband and other emerging modem technologies including low-power, short-range for wireless health and fitness, as well as wireless streaming video for consumer electronics and content service providers. Ellis has spent 20+ years helping regulate, standardize and commercialize wireless technologies for multi-billion dollar industries while working at both Fortune 100 companies and venture capital funded start-ups. Prior to joining Qualcomm in 2007, he was director of business development and marketing for UWB pioneer Staccato Communications. Previous experience includes leading business development for the General Atomics Advanced Wireless Group, working on wired/wireless architectures for Raytheon Systems, and as an electrical engineer for the City of San Diego. e has served a number of coalitions and industry working groups including those organized by the 5G Automotive Association, Society of Automotive Engineers, Continua Health Alliance, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (Vice-Chair, Exec Committee, Technical Editor), 1394 Trade Association (BoD), the WiMedia Alliance (BoD and Marketing Committees), USB-IF (various committees), Bluetooth SIG (Ecosystem and Marketing Committees) and many others. llis earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, San Diego. He has also studied Strategic Business and International Finance at Oxford University and has 8 issued US Patents and numerous more in the pipe.

Andrew leads the Mobility Solutions sales teams in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. If it floats, flies, or rolls, we’ve got it covered. Prior to this, Andrew led the European sales team and also led Intelsat’s Global Accounts teams on the Mobility and Broadband side of the business. Prior to joining Intelsat, Andrew was European Sales Director at New Skies Satellites in the UK, and held various sales and marketing roles at ESATEL Communications, a small, independent teleport in the USA. In what seems like another life, he worked in the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, DC, and at NASA, where he conducted project development and implementation work for Latin America and the Asia-Pacific involving the provision of Internet service and remote sensing for environmental purposes.He has also authored publications about the North American DTH market, distance learning in America, U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America, and Latin American economic development. He received a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Giuseppe Faranda Cordella received his master degree in Computer Science from the University of Turin. He is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in the design and development of automotive electronics, connected car services and vehicle cybersecurity. In his career he has been working in different roles in leading automotive companies either as an OEM or a Tier1 suppliers. In recent years he served as head of research and development and VP of Infotainment for a large automotive supplier and then as Head of the Connected Vehicle programme for a large OEM in Europe. In the last few years, he was appointed head of Vehicle Cybersecurity for a leading OEM in EMEA, managing the introduction of digital protection countermeasures in connected cars. He grew and led Teralytics’ elite engineering and data science team across three continents and is responsible for the technology powering our analytics platform. Luciano graduated from ETH Zurich with a master’s degree in computer science, and completed his master’s thesis in natural language processing at NYU. Prior to co-founding Teralytics, Luciano worked as a software engineer and was president of ETH juniors, the junior enterprise

Curtis Hay is a Technical Fellow at General Motors.  In this role Curtis develops precise GNSS and map technology to enable safe and reliable operation of GM semi-autonomous vehicles.  Curtis also led the team responsible for launching GM's 4G LTE connectivity in North America, Europe and China.  Prior to joining General Motors, Curtis served as an officer in the US Air Force for eight years where he developed GNSS technology for precision weapons, performed GPS satellite launch planning, and managed the Accuracy Improvement Initiative for the GPS ground segment.  Curtis also developed precision GNSS equipment for the agriculture and construction industries while at John Deere.

Dr Darren Handley has been with the UK Department for Transport for transport for seven years, working on transport security. At the start of 2016 he changed role to help the Department push forward its agenda on cyber security in the field of connected and automated vehicles.
Darren has previously worked with the European Commission at DG MOVE as a seconded national expert; in research and development; and at the UK intellectual property office. His doctorate is in Chemistry from the University of Sussex.

Luke Ibbetson has been with Vodafone since 1996 and currently heads the Vodafone Group Strategy and R&D organisation, responsible for all aspects of network research and strategy including Vodafone's participation in international standards & industry alliances, definition of the architectural blueprint for future networks, trials of emerging / disruptive technologies and concepts and long term spectrum planning. Luke is leading Vodafone's 5G programme, Chairs the NGMN (Next Generation Mobile Networks alliance) 5G Requirements and Architecture work, and is Vice Chair of the NGMN 5G "Board Committee" charged with overseeing the entire 5G programme. Luke is also a proud pioneer of Narrow Band IoT technology for Low Power Wide Area networks, and is Chairman of the GSMA's NB-IoT Forum.

He is delegated to ASECAP, European Association of operators of toll road infrastructures, where he is chairing the permanent working group on ITS. Mr. Jandrisits has a 15 years' experience in the field of road ITS and is contributing to the standardisation of C-ITS applications, the EC C-ITS implementation platform and is an active member of the C-ROADS initiative.

Nigel Jefferies is a senior standards manager with Huawei Technologies and Chairman of the Wireless World Research Forum, a global partnership between industry and academia to develop a research agenda for mobile communications. Previously he was Head of Academic Relationships within Vodafone Group Research & Development and a Principal Mathematician at Racal Research Ltd. In the past he led the European-funded IST project SHAMAN, which studied the security of future mobile systems, and ran the Secure Applications Steering Group for Mobile VCE. Other collaborative research projects on various aspects of security for mobile communications include 3GS3 in the UK-funded LINK programme, and ASPeCT and USECA in the European ACTS programme. His research interests include cryptography, security of systems and applications of mathematics to telecommunications. He received a PhD in functional analysis from Goldsmith's College, London, and an MA in mathematics from the Queen's College, Oxford. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and a Chartered Mathematician.

In his role as General Manager of Marvell Semiconductor Germany GmbH he assumes the duties of a Country Manager.

Auto Show Automobility forum, the International Telecommunications Union, and the World Wide Web Consortium.  Roger draws on 25+ years' experience in the technology industry as an analyst, journalist and consultant. Roger is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Mr Yuwei Li started his professional career as a transport engineer in 1983. After 13-year's service in the fields of inland water, maritime and road transport in various transport institutions of China, he formally joined UNESCAP Transport Division early 1996 as an officer for inland water transport, and then for transport infrastructure, land transport facilitation and transport policy at different levels. Prior to joining UNECE, he was Director of UNESCAP Transport Division. Mr Li played an important role in the UNESCAP transport programme, including initiating, drafting and negotiating regional and subregional agreements, formulating regional long-term vision on integrated intermodal transport system and comprehensive sustainable transport connectivity programme, developing regional standards and frameworks, and setting regional targets and development indicators. Mr Li's connection with UNECE started from 1992 when he, as a consultant of UNESCAP, helped adopt a UNESCAP resolution recommending seven transport conventions administered by UNECE. With UNESCAP he borrowed the concept of the UNECE CEVNI to harmonize the aids to navigation along the Greater Mekong River in 2000. Since 2001, he organized and/or conducted many seminars/workshops/advisory services/studies on different conventions administered by UNECE in Asia. He played a key role in promotion of accession to the conventions by the Asian countries, formulation of fundamental regional and subregional agreements and regional frameworks to pave a road for the applications of the conventions and provision of advisory services for the countries with specific difficulties in the accession and implementation of the conventions in Asia. He was also substantially involved in the joint UNECE-UNESCAP transport projects, including the Euro-Asian Transport Links, electronic data exchange between Customs, road safety and transport corridors in Southern and Central Asia.

Tom Lysemose Hansen is the founder of Promon. Lysemose Hansen is Danish and holds an M.Sc. in Informatics from the University of Oslo. After his studies he started a PhD on IT-security and risk analysis at the research institute SINTEF in Oslo. Lysemose Hansen started working on the Promon technology in 2004, also next to his PhD. Autumn 2006 he agreed to temporarily stop his PhD in order to work full time on commercializing Promon. Tom has been working as a system developer and project leader for “Statens Pensjonskasse” and “Arbeidsdirektoratet”. At Promon he currently is the CTO and member of the board.

Manuel Marsilio is the General Manager of the Brussels-based Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI). In his role he represents the European Bicycle, Electrically Power Assisted Cycle and Parts & Accessories Industries before the EU, the UN and other international organisations. His work focuses predominantly on industrial, trade and mobility policies that have an impact on the sector he represents, including furthering the vision of Bicycle-to-Vehicle direct communication in order to enhance riders' safety around the world on the short, medium and long term. He is a member of the international Experts Group that wrote the "EU Cycling Strategy: Recommendations for Delivering Green Growth and an Effective Mobility by 2030", where he was in charge of the Industrial chapter's development. Furthermore, he is also a delegate of the newly established World Bicycle Industry Association (WBIA). Manuel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and a Master's Degree in Political Science and International Relations. He also completed a number of courses, among which the "Competitiveness through Enterprise Sustainability" programme organised by the International Trade Centre in 2017.

Pierre Masai joined Toyota in 2005 as IT Director in the European Sales Organisation, and oversaw the merge of the various IT organisations of R&D, Manufacturing and Sales into one streamlined organisation in 2007, then its extension into a truly Pan-European organisation. He developed and coordinated the Telematics activities of Toyota in Europe from the start in 2008 towards the delivery of the segment first Touch & Go on the Toyota Yaris in 2011 and is now preparing the next generation of Connected Car activities with his Car IT team. Before Toyota, Pierre Masai was Global CIO of Hays Logistics (based in Paris), Managing Director of Hays Logistics Deutschland (in Düsseldorf) and served in the Volkswagen Group for 17 years, including as CIO of Europcar International in Paris and Chairman of the Board of Europcar UK, Head of Organisation and IS at the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen in Changchun, China, and IT Director and member of the Board of the Volkswagen Brussels factory. Pierre Masai is a Belgian national, born in 1958 and fluent in eight languages.  He holds a PhD from Strasbourg University (2017), followed the Toyota Executive Development Programme in Wharton University in the USA and Toyota Mikkabi University in Japan (2008), holds a postgraduate degree in business studies from the Solvay Business School of Economics and Management (1990) and holds a Master Degree in Computer Science (1982) and a Master Degree in Mathematics (1980) from the Free University of Brussels. He is a frequent speaker at Lean and Telematics events. His hobbies include jogging, golf and playing the piano.

Julien Masson has joined Orange Business Services in February 2017, as Head of Connected Car.  He is leading the development and deployment of Orange's vertical Automotive business strategy for the whole connected vehicle ecosystem. Julien has an extensive experience in Infotainment and Telematics within the Automotive industry acquired over 17 years working in different parts of the connected car value chain:  Tier 1 Audio and Navigation suppliers such as Clarion and Parrot Automotive, OEMs such as Nissan where he defined cross-car-line audio, Bluetooth, and navigation strategies in cooperation with Renault, and Telematics Service Provider such as Connexis where he rolled out in mass production voice & data services for BMW Assist. Prior to joining Orange Business Services, Julien led for 5 years the European Business Development and Sales Operations at Parrot Automotive.

Walter Nissler is Chief of the Vehicle Regulations and Transport Innovations Section of the Transport Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Before, he worked for six years at the European Commission in the area of road safety and for twenty years in national administration dealing with vehicle testing and type approval. His educational background is mechanical engineering with a University degree in vehicle engineering.

He has previously held position as Head of Quality Management responsible for the Akkreditation according to ISO EN 17020:2012. In addition Mr Nolte held positions as Deputy Technical Director responsible for the development of various tools and project manager responsible for the development of test equipment for PTI and exhaust emission tests.

Manuela Papadopol is the co-founder and managing director of Sansea consulting, a global management and marketing consulting firm. She helps companies identify, articulate and implement strategic solutions in the automotive and technology industries. She serves as an advisory board member for Automobility LA (affiliated with the LA Auto Show) and is an active member of Women in Automotive Technology, an organization created to connect, educate and drive the future of the automotive industry. Papadopol also holds a patent in voice-activated acquisition of non-local content. She was named a 2016 Woman Worth Watching by Diversity Journal and featured in Connected World Magazine's "Women of IoT Marketing" 2016. Prior to starting her own business, Papadopol served as global business development lead at Elektrobit, a leader in automotive software. Prior to that she established the global marketing team at Microsoft automotive. She began her business career in public relations and marketing at BMW in 1996 moving to Mercedes-Benz as a public relations manager in 2000. Fluent in German, Spanish, English and Romanian, she holds a degree in marketing management from the Romanian-American University in Bucharest and a post-graduate degree in public relations and business development from the University of Washington.

Dvir Reznik is Senior Marketing Manager, Automotive Cybersecurity at HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Dvir joined HARMAN with the acquisition of TowerSec in January 2016. Dvir is a seasoned marketing leader with hands-on experience taking B2B & B2C products to global markets. Before joining TowerSec, Dvir spent 7 years with various startup companies, including Zooz Payments, SparkBeyond, Meekan (acquired by Doodle), Bizzabo and SQream Technologies. Dvir also served as Marketing Director at Onavo (acquired by Facebook) and spent 8 years with IBM Israel in various marketing and software sales positions. Dvir lives with his wife, Dina, their 2 daughters and their dog in Israel and holds a MBA in Marketing and a BA in Finance.

Previously he has been with Siemens in Munich, Germany and with the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). He received a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois, USA. He also served on the ICANN Board.

Mr Shields is a Board Member of the ITS World Congress, founding Board Member of ITS America, former Chair of the TRB Communications Committee, former Convener of ISO/TC204/WG16, and Co‑Chair of the ITU Collaboration on ITS Communications Standards​​​. Mr Shields is also a member of the National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Advisory Board, a Presidential advisory committee. He received the 1998 SAE‑Delco Electronics ITS Award, was named an SAE Fellow in 2007, was inducted into the inaugural class of ITS America’s Hall of Fame in 2008, and was named the inaugural U.S. member of the ITS World Congress Hall of Fame in 2010. ​In 2008, to recognize his more than 40 years defining new industries, the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award in Entrepreneurship.

Stefano Sorrentino is Master Researcher at Ericsson Research in Stockholm, Sweden, where he has been employed for ten years and currently coordinates automotive-related research activities. He is also Board Member and Chairman for the System Architecture and Solution Development group in the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA). Stefano has 6 years of 3GPP experience as RAN1 delegate with occasional participation also in other groups, covering a range of LTE topics including MIMO, Coordinated Multipoint Processing (CoMP), Sidelink/D2D and V2X. Stefano was also appointed to chair RAN1 ad-hoc sessions on topics related to Downlink CoMP for about one year during LTE Rel-11. He has attended several international conferences as author or panelist and has contributed to a number of IEEE publications. Previous experience includes a graduate-researcher position at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and a researcher position at Siemens/Nokia Siemens Networks, where he contributed primarily to the EU Project Winner II and to WiMax-related research.

Dr Johannes Springer is responsible for the 5G Automotive Program at Deutsche Telekom in the Group Technology Headquarter. Dr Springer studied Engineering, Mechanical and Production Engineering at the Berlin Technical University. After his doctorate in 1992 he was in charge at Aachen University of Technology (RWTH). In 1998 he joined Deutsche Telekom Group in various management positions. From 2004 to 2010 and since 2006 he worked for Toll Collect as CTO/COO, the GPS/GSM based electronic tolling operator for heavy trucks in Germany. From 2011 to 2016 he was Vice President Technology and Solution Design within Strategic Business Unit Connected Car in T-Systems.

Jean Todt is President of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de L'Automobile) - the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s motoring organisations. The federation works across two key interlinked areas of activity – Sport and Mobility. In the realm of Mobility, the FIA aims to ensure that safe, affordable and clean systems of transport are available to all. He was elected to the position in October 2009 and re-elected in December 2013. He made road safety a priority of the federation through the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign, launched in 2011 in support of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. The campaign is based on global advocacy for road safety, supporting action on the ground by its 250 member clubs in nearly 150 countries, building institutional and commercial partnerships as well as mobilising the motor sport community to promote road safety.
• On 29 April 2015, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed Jean Todt as his first ever Special Envoy for Road Safety.
• Jean Todt is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society.
• Jean Todt began his career in 1966 as a world championship rally co-driver, before joining Peugeot as Sporting Director in 1981. In 1993, he joined Ferrari Racing, later taking responsibility for all motor sport activity for the Ferrari-Maserati Group. He was appointed General Manager of Ferrari in 2004 and at the end of 2006 became Chief Executive Officer of the company until 2008.
• In 2011, Jean Todt was named Grand Croix de la Légion d'Honneur, the highest honour of the French Republic. He is Chairman of the Board of the Suu Foundation, a humanitarian organization dedicated to advancing the health and education of the people of Myanmar founded by Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Peace Institute (IPI). He is also one of the Founders and the Vice-President of ICM, an institute devoted to medical research for brain and spinal cord disorders.
• Jean Todt was born on 25 February 1946 at Pierrefort, Cantal (France). He has one son, Nicolas, and shares his life with actress and film producer Michelle Yeoh, who is Global Road Safety Ambassador.

David Wong is Senior Technology and Innovation Manager at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the UK’s automotive industry trade body. Established in 1902, SMMT supports and promotes the interests of more than 700 member companies at home and abroad. David is SMMT’s lead on connected and autonomous vehicles, digital and future mobility innovation, ultra-low emission vehicles and design engineering, often working with key stakeholders from automotive and non-automotive sectors, including technology, telecoms, energy, legal, insurance, infrastructure and government. David sits on the UK Automotive Council Technology Group, a government-industry partnership that sets strategic priorities and technology roadmaps for the automotive industry, and on the board of directors of Cenex, a low-carbon technology consultancy. He was a member of the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s Future Communications Challenge Group, which advised the UK Government on 5G strategy. David previously worked for the Big Innovation Centre, a global big business-funded innovation hub, and think tanks the Relationships Foundation and the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute.
