5th Annual Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conference

​International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized 5th Annual Asia-Pacific Spectrum Management Conference held in Kuala-Lumpur - Malaysia, from 12 to 14 March 2019.

The theme of the conference is Enabling DIGITAL futures through SMART Spectrum Management.

The event kindly hosted by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and supported by Forum Global and Ministry​ of Science and ICT Republic of Korea (RoK). ​

Objectives and Target:

The conference aimed to bring together senior level staff from policy makers, regulators, Industry and academia for discussions on key spectrum management issues including but not limited to:

  • WRC-19: Preparations and priorities 
  • Connecting the Unconnected through​ smart Spectrum Management
  • 5G rollout in Asia-Pacific including the development of 5G Indoor Network 
  • mmWave spectrum for 5G
  • Co-ordinated and efficient approach for the 3.3 – 4.2GHz, 2.3GHz and the 2.6GHz bands 
  • Spectrum licensing in the Asia-Pacific region 
  • Developing future oriented roadmaps ​

Notes on Participation:

  1. Registration of the event would strictly be done online through the registration link HERE.
  2. To facilitate participation from developing countries, ITU is pleased to provide one partial fellowship for each eligible country, subject to availability of funds, with preference to those related applicants would be able to share the national Spectrum Management practices during the conference. Applicants requesting fellowships are required to submit their fellowship request forms, available under the event documents tab, duly signed by their respective Administrations no later than 3rd February 2019.
  3. Entry Visa: The participants requiring an entry visa to Malaysia are requested to contact their local Embassy of Malaysia for information well in advance.
