Summary: Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is being rolled out for years, has become an emerging information technology that has attracted much attention, and its application range has extended from encrypted digital currency to an increasing number of areas, such as resource sharing, supply chain, data storage and certificate, etc. But introduction of complex cryptographic algorithms, repeated data verification makes it difficult to improve the performance of the DLT system in large-scale applications. Performance bottleneck has always been the key to restrict the development of DLT. At the same time, with the evolution of 5G & future network, VR/AR even web3.0 or metaverse that also require higher performance, such as: a large number & scattered terminal access scalability, efficient collaboration in diversified comprehensive application scenarios, storage and efficient authentication of massive data, etc., which are driving the DLT in the evolution of high performance and light weight. So, researching DLT performance enhancement is important and necessary. proposed to initiate a new Technical Paper on the requirements and framework of DLT performance enhancement to comprehensively standardize the lightweight evolution requirements from different scenarios and give an overall framework for DLT performance enhancement. It provides an overview of DLT performance enhancement, and defines the service and capability requirements and framework based on ITU-T Recommendation F.751.2. It includes: · Requirement and general framework of DLT performance enhancement. · Capability of DLT performance enhancement. · Use cases and workflow of DLT performance enhancement.
