Summary: To mitigate global climate change, more and more base station sites installed photovoltaics system to promote energy conservation and carbon reduction of ICT industry. Compared with the traditional photovoltaics technology, the application practice of smart controlling photovoltaics system could solve the shade problem surround the base station sites. It controls the faulty photovoltaic panels installed at the base station site by automatic tracking of the voltage of the switching power supply system. It can also contribute to saving the cost of manual adjustment and testing the photovoltaics modules by reducing the cost and difficulty of operation and maintenance. This Recommendation introduces construction of photovoltaics panels with serial and/or parallel connection and the smart controlling methods for photovoltaics system in detail. This method could increase the proportion of green power application of the base station site by 10% to 20%, significantly reducing GHG emissions. At the same time, the photovoltaics panels on the roof of the base station site could reduce the direct sunlight on the roofs, saving the operating time of the air conditioner, and improve the site energy efficiency of the base station site.
