Summary: Digital twin technology has become a crucial component of smart city systems, and enabling urban planners and managers to simulate, analyze, and predict various scenarios of urban development by creating virtual replicas of the physical urban environment, offering intuitive tools for management and decision-making. Its foundation lies in providing a 3D model representation of objects in the physical world in digital space. However, the precision of 3D model representation varies in different digital twin systems, which equates to different precision levels of visualization for digital twin systems. This Recommendation established a unified digital twin visualization precision levels classification framework, which can assist decision makers identify the general requirements that different precision levels should meet, choose appropriate precision levels for the construction of digital twin systems, avoid unnecessary consumption of resource and cost. This can also promote the interoperability and comparability between different systems and projects.
