Title | Strengthening communications and partnership engagement in support of WTDC Regional Initiatives | |
Description |
One of the main outcomes of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) is the adoption of Regional Initiatives (RIs), which are a series of priority areas defined at the regional level to address specific telecommunication/information and communication technology (ICT) to meet the development needs of each of ITU regions. RIs play a crucial role in shaping the digital landscape, promoting sustainable development and accelerating digital transformation across ITU Member States. This project is aimed at strengthening partnership engagement and communications in support of WTDC Regional Initiatives by funding the costs of a communication staff that will design and implement a communication strategy aimed at increasing the engagement of ITU Membership, as well as at promoting donor engagement in support of these Regional Initiatives. The project aims to building on the achievements of past projects funded through the funds allocated by the 2018 Session of ITU Council in support of WTDC-17 Regional Initiatives, building a bridge with the implementation of the WTDC-22 Regional Initiatives and the Kigali Action Plan. The project will be implemented over a period of 12 months. |
