Regional Project on Children Financial Literacy “Malee”

In implementation of the Arab Regional Initiative on Digital Financial Inclusion, this project aims at enabling the “Malee” program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) after localizing/modifying the existing content to match the slight local cultural/social differences in the Arabic speaking countries.  The beneficiary segment of this project are children between the ages of 7-12. The project will be implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in different districts targeting 1000 children and their families in collaboration with Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations  

The project successfully
demonstrated a solution that would provide access to quality and low-cost
financial literacy to children in the Arab region, particularly through the
integration of ICT solutions. These solutions have rendered Malee not only cost-effective but also easily scalable across various regions. The
incorporation of gamification and contemporary technological methods has been
key in captivating children's interest, thereby facilitating an enjoyable and
meaningful learning experience about financial concepts.  Total number of children who successfully completed
the program phases: 1,198. In the program, 619 girls (52%) and 579 boys (48%) participated, showing a
marginally higher participation from female children.
