Title ITU-AMD Learning Labs
Description This project aims to bring the developmental benefits of ICTs into the reach of the end-users, and to broadly share benefits, experiences and lesson learned, so as to encourage greater adoption of ICTs in critical development sectors across a number of developing countries.

The ITU and AMD will jointly undertake ICT for development deployments (Learning Labs) in 20 sites across 6-10 Developing and Least Developed countries over a period of two years. The Learning Labs will focus on development priorities such as Education, Health and the use of ICTs to enhance SMMEs.

This project will contribute substantially towards building ICT skills as well as building human capacities to effectively use ICTs as tools to meet developmental objectives amongst a variety of community stakeholders. These Learning Labs will be implemented at each site by bringing together a complete ecosystem of partners and stakeholders to provide a comprehensive and sustainable solution that includes hardware, applications, content and training.

Achievements

The project contributed towards building ICT skills and enhanced human capacities to use ICTs effectively as tools to meet developmental objectives amongst a variety of community stakeholders. These Learning Labs brought together an ecosystem of partners and stakeholders to provide a comprehensive and sustainable solution that includes hardware, applications, content and training.
