| Description |
This project is an umbrella project that aims to assist beneficiary countries to provide equal ICT access and services to women, children and youth, people with disabilities, indigenous communities, rural and underserved communities as well as other disadvantaged and vulnerable groups through establishment of 25 networked Multipurpose Community Telecentres across developing and least developed countries worldwide. Phase one of the project will implement 10 MCTs and the rest will come under phase two. The project will also coordinate development of appropriate and needed local contents; and enhance the human capacity building through ICT training and e-learning facilities for these disadvantaged and venerable groups. This project finally aims to enhance the MCTs’ sustainability through the development of a pool of competencies that will allow deployment of region wide revenue-generating activities. This project will be implemented in various sites through subprojects. |
