Title Creating a Cybercafé for the blind and visually impaired people in Burkina Faso
Description

The project aims to support the efforts of the Government of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou for the creation of a Cybercafé open to all but with hardware and software suitable for blind and visually impaired. This project also aims to provide, through the strengthening of a unit suitable ICT training, technical skills in ICT that will include the blind and visually impaired to participate in social and economic activities as well as other citizens of Burkina Faso. This will allow blind and visually impaired to also increase their chances of finding a stable job and improve their income and living conditions in the long term.

Achievements The project was fully implemented by establishing a Cyber Café for persons with disabilities. The Cyber Café is a point of contact and interaction between persons with disability and able-persons contributing to the improvement of social relations. The necessary equipment had been provided through this project and income generated from services (internet photocopying, telephone, fax) enhance the sustainability of the established center.
