The objective of the project was to strengthen Wireless Networking in Sub-Saharan Africa through the establishment of hubs for wireless networking skills transfer in two or three selected ICT training institutions. The project trained trainers, provided curricula as well as training materials (lab bundles) for use within these training institutions. As a result, a total of 56 people were trained, from 17 countries in Africa. The breakdown of the participants to the two institutions shows that 26 participants from 7 French speaking countries, attended the training at ESMT in Dakar, Senegal, while, 30 participants from 7 English speaking countries attended the training at KIST in Kigali, Rwanda. The project succeeded in delivering real capacity building for the region. This was in the form of the original set of trainers (6), who were then able to impart their knowledge to their colleagues. In addition, Wireless Networking Training kits were delivered to the participants. All the training centers received training materials that they could use to conduct the training on their own.
