Title Extension of Telemedicine to cover remote Areas in Zimbabwe
Description This project aimed at providing connectivity between hospitals in Zimbabwe with ICTs in order to improve medical service delivery in a country where professional medical brain drain is a critical factor. Under this project, the following outputs were delivered:
• Audit of infrastructure and facilities related to telemedicine in the hub and selected hospitals to be connected.
• Connectivity of up to 12 remote/rural hospitals to the referral hub, Parirenyatwa General Hospital, in Harare or in accordance with the next referral procedures.
• Assistance to the Ministry of ICTs Postal and Courier Services in the development of regulations/procedures and sector policy for the health sector.
• Enhanced skills in telemedicine through training.
