Implement the Women in the Digital Economy Community of Practice by leveraging the existing EQUALS community, which is managed through the EQUALS Hub and hosted by ITU, to bring together stakeholders from across the globe who are committed to closing the gender digital divide. USAID, working with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will support the establishment of the Community of Practice (CoP) as a distinct project of EQUALS for a period of four years. This project will strengthen and grow the EQUALS community of partners through the implementation of the new Community of Practice, as well as impact current and new programming by CoP members aimed at closing the gender digital divide. |

| Achievements |
The project supported the establishment of the Women in the Digital Economy Community of Practice (CoP) as a global platform for collaboration, partnership building and knowledge sharing among organizations working to reduce the gender digital divide. Implemented within the broader EQUALS ecosystem, the initiative sought to strengthen coordination among stakeholders committed to advancing women's participation in the digital economy. The project successfully launched the Community of Practice and established key governance, organizational and strategic foundations. A formal partnership framework was agreed, governance structures were defined and a programme of work was developed to guide future collaboration, learning and community engagement activities. The Community experienced significant growth during its implementation period. Thirty-seven organizations joined the initiative and twenty-eight actively participated in the first virtual community meeting. These activities created opportunities for dialogue, exchange of experiences and coordination among organizations pursuing common objectives related to women's digital empowerment. Members engaged in consultations on thematic priorities and explored mechanisms for future collaboration through task forces and shared programming approaches. Preparatory work was also undertaken to establish digital knowledge-sharing platforms and resources that would facilitate future cooperation and peer learning among members. Although project activities were curtailed following the suspension and termination of funding, the initiative successfully established the foundations of a global community dedicated to advancing women's participation in the digital economy and strengthening international cooperation on gender digital inclusion.
