Title Memory of the Arab World Project
Description The Hyderabad Action Plan includes regional initiatives that should help achieve economic of scale in ICT development. During the WTDC-10 preparatory process, each region grouped its initiatives and selected the top projects that best met its particular priorities. WTDC-10 adopted 28 initiatives. The BDT regular budget provides seeds money that will be used to attract extrabudgetary funding from development partners. "Arab Digital Content" is one of the 5 initiatives for the Arab Region, and "Memory of the Arab World" is one of the designated project to achieve this initiative. This project aims at documenting and collecting the Arab heritage in addition to making it available on the internet.

Achievements

The project objective was to document and collect the Arab heritage in addition to making it available on the internet.
The project was implemented and achieved the following result:
• Developing website to display collective Arab heritage:
• Database for the collective memory of the Arab heritage which includes the following number of entries: 
  - 118 records historical eras
  - 6 historical cities 
  - 62 historical events
  - 76 historical characters
  - 163 folks 
  - 2625 unique musical notes and tones heritage 
  - 6606 manuscripts
