Although separation of broadcasting and telecommunications is becoming increasingly difficult for operational and technical reasons. Many telecommunication operators are involved in broadcasting through the provision of transmission facilities and infrastucture. The convergence of telecommunications and broadcasting -- one example is the joint provision of cable television and telephone services over the same infrastructure -- is blurring the distinction between the two sectors.
