From 13th to 26th November
2008 ITU provided expert assistance
to the Tajikistan Administration (State Service to Supervision
and Regulation in the field of Communication and Information -
SSSRCI).
ITU assistance was focused
on planning of broadband networks with NGN elements
in Tajikistan and was performed with computer planning
tools of ITU partners.
Several typical sample networks, including
capital city, rural area and overall country broadband market in Tajikistan were
selected and all necessary input data
as geo referenced raster maps,
population, households, existing subscribers
and infrastructure were collected.
Number of studies on
modeling of broadband wireline and wireless access networks
for the selected sample networks in
Tajikistan, concerning market perspectives,
broadband technology alternatives and
economic effects were carried out.
During
a
three days seminar from 24th to 26th November with
different
specialists from SSSRCI
all results from the studies
were presented
and discussed.
A detailed
technical report with analysis
of the
obtained from the studies
results
and recommendations regarding
the development of the broadband networks with NGN elements
in Tajikistan
was prepared afterwards from ITU and made available
for the Tajikistan Administration. |
