ITU has engaged the expert through Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) to prepare revisions to the guidelines and questionnaire used for Africa and to prepare a report on the findings from responses to the questionnaire.  The ITU also asked that the expert to develop criteria which could be used to select five beneficiary countries for a pilot program of assistance and training in Roadmap preparation for their countries.

25 countries acknowledged receipt of the updated questionnaire circulated by the ITU.  The quality and completeness of responses was highly variable and of the 22 responses received by the deadline 17 of those responses indicated a desire for ITU expert assistance and sufficient information was available from the response or other sources to make a reasonable assessment of priorities.  In this regard, five beneficiary countries have been identified i.e. Cambodia, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Tonga.
