على الرغم من وجود إطار لتقييم الآثار البيئية لقطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات (كالذي وضعه الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، على سبيل المثال، في التوصية ITU-T L.1410 بشأن تقييمات دورة الحياة البيئية لسلع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات وشبكاتها وخدماتها)، يُفتقر إلى أفضل الممارسات في تحديد هوية المعدات، المُعدة خصيصاً لتقييم الآثار البيئية لمعمارية الشبكة. وفي هذه التوصية، تحدَد المعدات الرئيسية في الشبكات لحسابات تقييم دورة الحياة (LCA) على نحو أكثر سلاسة. وتستعمل مختلف أنواع معماريات الشبكات سلعاً مختلفة تؤدي إلى اختلافات في استعمال الطاقة وتوليد المخلفات الإلكترونية والبصمات البيئية. وستبحث هذه التوصية في ثلاثة أنواع من معماريات الشبكات وستقترح مجموعة مناسبة من المعدات التي يتعين النظر فيها لكل منها. وستبدأ هذه التوصية في دعم مصممي الشبكات لتحديد الأداء البيئي والدائري لمعماريات الشبكات المختلفة. وتستعمل التوصية ITU-T L.1050 المعلومات المجمعة من أصحاب المصلحة التي يمكن أن تقدم أفكار سديدة بشأن التحديات المحتملة المحددة. |
