Réseaux optiques passifs de 40 gigabits – version 2 (NG-PON2): Spécification de la couche dépendante du support physique (PMD)
La Recommandation UIT-T G.989.2 contient les spécifications de la couche dépendante du support physique (PMD) pour un réseau optique passif (PON) qui a une capacité agrégée nominale de 40 Gbit/s dans le sens aval et de 10 Gbit/s dans le sens amont, appelé ci-après réseau NG-PON2. Le réseau NG-PON2 est un réseau d'accès à fibres optiques qui est souple et est capable de répondre aux besoins de largeur de bande des services mobiles de raccordement, commerciaux et résidentiels. Cette Recommandation décrit en outre des configurations en option qui permettent d'étendre cette capacité nominale, la série de Recommandations UIT-T G.989 admettant plusieurs débits dans le sens amont et dans le sens aval.
Le plan de longueurs d'onde du réseau NG-PON2 est défini pour permettre la coexistence, par superposition de longueurs d'onde, avec les systèmes PON existants (voir UIT-T G.989.1). La couche de convergence de transmission (TC) est basée sur la Recommandation UIT-T G.987.3, les modifications à apporter pour le réseau NG-PON2 faisant l'objet de la Recommandation UIT-T G.989.3. Les spécifications de l'interface de gestion et de commande de l'unité ONU (OMCI) sont décrites dans la Recommandation UIT-T G.988 pour les extensions NG-PON2.
Cette Recommandation spécifie les caractéristiques des canaux hybrides à multiplexage par répartition dans le temps et en longueur d'onde (TWDM), appelés systèmes PON TWDM, ainsi que les caractéristiques des canaux facultatifs réglables point à point à superposition de longueur d'onde, appelés systèmes PON point à point à multiplexage par répartition en longueur d'onde (PtP WDM).
Les systèmes PON TWDM décrits dans cette Recommandation représentent une nouvelle évolution par rapport aux systèmes décrits dans les séries de Recommandations UIT-T G.984 et UIT-T G.987. Dans la mesure du possible, cette Recommandation conserve les spécifications des Recommandations UIT-T G.984.1 et UIT-T G.987.1 pour garantir une réutilisation la plus large possible des technologies existantes et la compatibilité avec les systèmes d'accès optiques déployés et l'infrastructure des fibres optiques.
L'édition 2.0 a pour objet de continuer à mettre à jour et à faire évoluer la spécification de la couche dépendante du support physique (PMD).
