电信中心雷击电子脉冲的防护
ITU-T K.40建议书提出了设计电信结构不受雷电和电磁脉冲（LEMP）影响的有效保护系统的指导原则。引入了防雷区的概念，作为一个综合具体保护措施：接地，连接，电缆布线，屏蔽，协调的SPD系统和隔离接口的框架。还给出了有关仿真LEMP影响的信息以及现有和新建筑物中保护措施的必备清单。
