  ITU-T A.5 justification information for referenced document ETSI TS 102 034 V1.3.1 (2007-10) in draft J.700
1. Clear description of the referenced document:
Name: ETSI TS 102 034 V1.3.1 (2007-10)
Title: Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB); Transport of MPEG-2 Based DVB Services over IP Based Networks
2. Status of approval:
The referenced integrated version of the ETSI TS 102 034 standard was approved in 2007.
3. Justification for the specific reference:
This specification defines transport of MPEG-2 based DVB services over IP based networks, and constitutes an essential part of the Recommendation. Since this specification consists of huge number of pages, making reference saves a lot of paper in the printing process.
4. Current information, if any, about IPR issues:
Some information may be available in the ETSI IPR archives at (http://webapp.etsi.org/IPR/home.asp).
5. Other useful information describing the "Quality" of the document:
Metadata for Content on Demand and live services described in ETSI TS 102 034 is one of the widely applied definitions for digital TV broadcasting and implemented in a number of devices.
6. The degree of stability or maturity of the document:
The referenced standard has completed the rigorous and comprehensive review and approval process of the ETSI standards development committee. The first version of ETSI TS 102 034 standard (V1.1.1) was approved and published in 2005. This version (V1.3.1) including the referenced text was approved and published in 2007.
7. Relationship with other existing or emerging documents:
The referenced standard has completed the rigorous and comprehensive review and approval process of the ETSI. The first version of ETSI TS 102 034 standard (V1.1.1) was approved and published in 2005. This version (V1.3.1) including the referenced text was approved and published in 2007.
