Summary: Airports are one of the main doors to access the cities and their behaviour can have a big impact on the city. The coordination and communication between the city and the airport will improve transport management. It also will increase efficiency in airport use (reducing the carbon footprint) and it will also enhance the coordination of services provided by the city. This recommendation will impulse the development of the communication between the city and the airport enabling the city to work as a coordinated ecosystem instead of as isolated elements. Some examples about expected benefits for the passengers are: Enhance user experience, avoiding queues and waiting times, offering detailed information systems, etc. This could be possible thanks to the information that the city shares with the airport, enabling the airport to anticipate issues like bottlenecks in the check-in area and security check-points Enhance customer care service inside the airport.
