Summary: In most countries, energy consumption in the building sector accounts for about 40% of total energy consumption. In case of buildings, efforts are underway to increase energy consumption efficiency through solutions such as smart home, smart building, and smart factory. In order to effectively support this in smart cities, city-level energy data sharing and analytics for city energy services and intelligent energy applications should be provided by utilizing energy consumption and production information among buildings with renewable energies and different energy consumption patterns. In order to facilitate the collection, sharing and analysis of the information necessary for this service, standardized specifications for the types and exchange methods of energy data are essential. This draft Recommendation specifies requirements and architectural models for city-level energy management that facilitates data exchange, sharing and analytics among buildings in smart cities. In addition, use cases are presented to support energy planning, management and energy data sharing through city energy services for a smart sustainable city.
