L.1471 was written to align with Net Zero frameworks by the Science Based Target Initiative, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Race to Zero and Climate Neutral Now, the Net Zero Initiative. However, just after the publication of L.1471, SBTi published a new Net Zero guideline (“standard”). The intention of the work item is to review L.1471 and agree on any necessary changes to keep consistency and interact with the SBTi framework and other frameworks.
