Summary: According to the WHO definition, occupational health is an area of work in public health to promote and maintain highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations. It encompasses various disciplines broader than medicine, such as occupational medicine, nursing, ergonomics, psychology, hygiene, and safety, and seeks to enhance working conditions and create a safe and healthy work environment. The workers, depending on their occupational specific, are exposed to various factors that have the potential to negatively impact their health. These factors depend on the type of work, the physical and mental exertion involved, the materials and products utilized, and the working environment. For instance, workers in a logistics company who drive long distances may experience physical symptoms like herniated discs, respiratory diseases, or circulatory disorders, as well as mental health issues. Another example is a worker using polyurethane foam products, who developed respiratory symptoms and was diagnosed with new-onset asthma at the on-site clinic for employee health. In the field of occupational health aims to prevent occupational risk from the workers, so it is crucial to track and monitor workers' health, identify symptoms associated with occupational factors, and provide appropriate diagnoses and healthcare programs. To effectively monitor workers' health and occupational impacts for symptoms of the workers, companies can utilize various IT devices to measure their health status and evaluate the working environment. The collected data can be stored in the company's occupational health service platform, which can be utilized by multiple service users such as healthcare professionals, therapists, scientists, labor organizations, and workers. One of the main challenges faced by the occupational health service platform is to provide standardized approaches for effectively managing occupational health data collected from diverse sources with varying formats such as including personal health devices, sensors, and other platforms. Additionally, it is also important to ensure that the collected data is appropriately delivered to users of occupational health workers. This draft Recommendation defines frameworks and requirements for the occupational health service platform. These frameworks aim to improve data collection, processing, privacy protection, and interoperability between data sources and users. The platform enables diverse use cases of occupational health services such as monitoring workers' health status, informing occupational health policy development, and implementing customized healthcare programs for workers.
